WAFCON 2026: South Africa keep hopes of advancing to knockout stage alive after Ivory Coast draw


South Africa fought back from two goals down to earn a dramatic 2-2 draw against Ivory Coast in their Group B clash at the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) on Friday.The result kept their hopes of reaching the quarter-finals firmly alive.On the matchday, the Banyana Banyana looked to be heading for defeat after teenage sensation Grace Sery scored twice in the first half to put the Ivorians in complete control.However, goals from Thembi Kgatlana and Hildah Magaia after the break completed an impressive comeback and secured a valuable point for the South Africans.
